Ryan and Jessica Hertel
Sunday April 19th 2009, I had the opportunity to perform at another San Diego Wedding, for a very fun and exciting couple at the Darlington House in La Jolla. In all the years I have been driving to La Jolla working weddings this was my first time at the Darlington House.
As a DJ I have the chance to play at many different places and work with many different vendors. I will have to say that the vendors at this wedding were all very fantastic to work with. I actually left the wedding thinking to myself that I hope to work with all of these vendors again in the future.
The Event Manager Emilie was very nice, helpful, professional and a great pleasure to work with
The Coordinator was Kasey Shepard from “I Do.. Weddings”, She was also very helpful and professional. I really liked working with Kasey because she didn’t have the stuck up “Im the wedding coordinator” attitude which I have run into a few times, I am definitely going to add her to my vendors list.
The Catering company was Personal Touch Dining Inc. The entire staff was very helpful and nice, they did a really good job with with working with Kasy and I. Working out the kinks in our timeline and I think for a catering company they went above and beyond what I have seen in the past with other Catering Companies. Chris was the Catering Manager, and he did a fantastic job communicating with everyone and made sure he did his part in the wedding and also went above and beyond.
The Photographer was Alexandra Oat. Her and her assistance were all over the place taking photos from start to finish. I have not seen the photos but Im sure they are going to come out really good. She was also a pleasure to work with. Keeping communication with me during the wedding and was really easy to work with when it came to the timeline and making changes because of our time table we were on with the venue. Working with a photographer that is nice and professional is sometimes hard to find, but I think Alexandra was fantastic and hope I have the chance to work with her again. After I get a chance to see the photos I may add her to my vendors list as well.
Last but not least I worked with one of my favorite Wedding Officiants, Reverend Christopher Tuttle from Vows from the Heart. Every-time I see Christopher Tuttle I just smile because I know the wedding won’t be boring. He does a fantastic job in reaching the audience and yet not being the center of attention and keeping the attention on the Bride and Groom. Of all the wedding I work at, Christopher Tuttle is one of those guys I would like to see at every wedding, and I think that he should be at every wedding. On a personal note, when I get married I am going to have Christopher Tuttle at my wedding, and I will fly him to where ever my wedding takes place.
I was able to take some video, and am going to work on putting together a short video clip of the wedding, and will also try to get some photos from the photographer to post, so like most of my posts, come back soon and take a look at what happened at this wedding.
